Renelle Nelson has been a parent advocate and Director of the Children’s Mental Health and Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD) Project at PACER Center for 23 years. PACER Center works with families of children and youth with disabilities to help them access information, resources and supports, so they can live successfully within their families and communities and experience adequate support at school. Renelle is a member of the Third Party Billing Advisory group at the Minnesota Department of Education and served on their School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Leadership Team and EBD Leadership Team. She also served on the Mental Health Advisory Council’s Subcommittee for Children’s Mental Health and is on the CTSS workgroup at the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Renelle provides specialty workshops and written resources on many topics related to mental health, behavior and school. A former educator and mental health provider, she is a strong advocate for positive discipline. Renelle has three children with mental health needs.
